First Responder Applications — Police, Fire, and Rescue
Emergency scenes requiring first responder assistance are by nature dynamic and unpredictable. Emergency personnel arriving on the scene require rapidly deployable, reliable, durable support infrastructure. Rosum is developing an enhanced location solution that utilizes locally deployable portable TV transmitters. These transmitters greatly enhance the positioning environment at the emergency scene and allow high-accuracy reliable, in-building location of first responder personnel. This location capability can reduce both time spent on location "chatter" and loss of life.
Deploying Rosum portable TV transmitters at emergency scenes increases the accuracy of Rosum TV-GPS and adds 3D positioning capabilities. High-precision 3D positioning allows more refined awareness and instruction from field command centers, allowing quick, informed, life-saving decisions.
First Responder Applications can leverage wide-area and local-area (high-precision) versions of Rosum TV-GPS. These are described in Rosum TV-GPS and Rosum TV-GPS Plus.
