Technology Map

Rosum TV-GPS provides a unique combination of accuracy, indoor and outdoor availability, and low-cost wide area deployment. High-power, low-frequency signals are the key to seamless indoor-outdoor coverage.

Compare Rosum TV-GPS with other wide area location technologies:

Wide Area (Rosum TV-GPS)
Operating Range Indoor Accuracy Indoor/Urban Coverage Indoor/Outdoor Transition Infrastructure Cost for Metropolitan Area Deployment
Rosum TV-GPS Network Reach for TV-GPS, Global for GPS-only Very Good Very Good Very Good Low
GPS Global Outdoor Poor Poor Poor None
A-GPS Network Reach Perhaps Perhaps Poor Low
Cellular TDOA Location Measurement Unit (LMU) (approx. one per cell) Perhaps Good Good High

Local Area (Rosum TV-GPS Plus)

Local area location technologies such as WiFi, Mesh Networking, and RFID are useful only for tracking people or assets that are strictly limited to a predefined set of locations. These technologies are not useful for wide area location and tracking applications.

Rosum TV-GPS provides coverage over the wide area all the time, and can be enhanced with Rosum TV-GPS Plus to provide highly-accurate, room-level precision in the local area.

Rosum will provide portable Pseudo-TV Transmitters (PTTs) which can be deployed in local areas to increase precision of positioning as needed to support the customer's application.
